I have some old 3com switches in our office and I configured two VLANs on these.
Default VLAN 0001 is the corporate VLAN, and VLAN 0002 is the Guest Internet Access VLAN.
I configured the Switches by webGUI as a manager
user. I created VLAN 0002 and assigned the ports previously configured as "hybrid type" to it. All seemed to work fine till a power failure made the switches poweroff. After restart, the VLAN 0002 do not exist any more on any of my 3com switches.
They seem to forget the VLAN 0002 configuration, but not the IP addresses and names assigned to each one.
My network:
- one 3com 4500 (the core)
- two more 3com 4500
- one 3com 4210
