Historia |


Existen probas da ocupación da zona dende o -3500. A área foi evanxelizada por Martiño de Tours ou os seus discípulos no século IV.


En 1010, Rivallon, Barón de Vitré, cedeulle o territorio de Acigné ó seu fillo Renaud. A súa dinastía durou ata o século XVI, cando a liñaxe morreu co matrimonio de Judith d'Acigné co marshall de Cossé-Brissac.


Entre os séculos XI e XVIII, parte do territorio da comuna pertenceulle á Abadía de Saint Melaine e Saint Georges en Rennes. En 1234, o castelo foi destruído polo Duque de Bretaña, Pierre Mauclerc, para castigar a Alain d'Acigné por poñerse da parte do rei de Francia (Luís IX) contra el.


Durante a Revolución Francesa, a vila púxose de parte do clero e foi castigada cun saqueo por unha tropa da garda nacional en 1792.[1]
