We are trying to resolve NW latency issue for one of our new build servers which is not yet live but migrated databases for testing in SQL2016 on windows 2016 with mirroring setup
Instance A - Total 10 TB databases with P in DC1
Instance b - Mirror with A in DC2
Distance between DC1 and DC2 is approx 20 miles, so not really a DR but works.
During the mirroring we see random disconnects though send and restore rate seems to be better.
Even though i am working with my NW engineers for some time now , but wanted an opinion of what might be going wrong here
When i ping SQL Virtual name say instance A from DC1 to DC2 instance B, for say 30 mins, there is almost 2 to 3% loss of packets. Around lost = 10 to 15 on avg. Mirror time out p[partner is default 10, should changing this mean anything if there is a drop in packets and how much can be acceptable ?
Load- Just random 50 GB load and nothing major
