WS:= windows server
I'm building a small (hyperconvergent) server, with:
1. domain controller (DC), DNS in a WS2019 core
2. one or more instances of WS2019
The DC must be always on and as bare as possible, and needs to be on before the other instances start.
What is the recommended configuration ? Having Hyper V server, a WS core with DC and DNS, and one or more full WS2019 ?
I'll have 16GB or RAM, 128GB SSD, and few Terabytes of HDD.

You need a minimum of two servers and ideally three for this. If you really can't have more than one, consider Windows Server 2019 Essentials instead. Also that is a very tiny server; you won't be doing very much with it.

Got WS2019 datacenter. Why not having HV and inside WS core + WS datacenter instances, everything in one box ?

It's better to figure out what you need first, and then buy it.

@MichaelHampton That would be indeed ideal, but it's not part of the requirements of the project.

Well, then, if you already bought Datacenter you may as well use it.

i have a hp server and i install hyper-v and then i make a 4 VM on it,
if install hyper-v server i think you cant install dns-server and iis on it then you have to create VM on hyper-v for install windows and dns server and iis on it,and if you want have 2 vm , you'r resource = / 3(hyper-v server - VM1 - VM2)
i think if you install windwos server you can install dns server and iis and hyper-v with widnows role,and then make another vm on it.
now you can save 1/3 on you're resource!
