Historia |


A oración compúxoa un autor descoñecido na primeira metade do século XIV, o papa Xoán XXII concedeu indulxencias en 1330 a quen a rezase.[1]James Mearns, un himnólogo británico atopouna nun manuscrito do Museo Británico datado en 1370; tamén existe unha inscrición no Alcázar de Sevilla, da época de Pedro o Cruel. Erroneamente pensouse que o autor era; Ignacio de Loiola, que escribiu sobre a oración ao inicio dos seus Ejercicios espirituales.

Corpus Christi, salva me.

Sanguis Christi, inebria me.

Aqua lateris Christi, lava me.

Passio Christi, conforta me.

O bone Jesu, exaudi me.

Intra vulnera tua absconde me.

Ne permittas a Te me separari.

Ab hoste maligno defende me.

In hora mortis meae voca me,

Et jube me venire ad Te,

Ut cum Sanctis tuis laudem Te

Per infinita saecula saeculorum.
Amen.
