I have been assigned to transfer an ASP.NET website to a new host (GoDaddy).
For some reason, the web application is not trying to connect to the new database specified in my connection string, and thus this error is produced:
The server principal "_username_" is not able to access the database "_dbname_" under the current security context.
Note that changing the username in the connection string is reflected in the error message, but changing the database name does not.
My connection string, as in config:
<connectionStrings>
<add name="AppContext" connectionString="Data Source=...;Database=_dbname_;Integrated Security=False;User ID=_username_;Password=Fjx0w2%2" providerName="System.Data.SqlClient" />
</connectionStrings>
Unfortunately, I do not have the source code but from what I saw after decompilation, the database name does not seem to be hard-coded in any way.
The application is using Entity Framework.
Is it possible that the database name is stored in configuration elsewhere?
