San Tirso de Cando é unha parroquia que se localiza no leste do concello de Outes. Segundo o IGE en 2011 tiña 833 habitantes (421 mulleres e 412 homes) distribuídos en 16 entidades de poboación, o que supón unha diminución en relación ao ano 1999 cando tiña 1.015 habitantes.

O 18 de xaneiro de 1994 tivo lugar o evento de Cando, unha grande explosión que a día de hoxe aínda non ten unha explicación científica clara.
