San Xoán do Freixo de Sabardes é unha parroquia que se localiza no suroeste do concello de Outes. Segundo o padrón municipal (INE 2013) ten 973 habitantes (475 homes e 498 mulleres), distribuídos en 18 entidades de poboación, o que supón unha diminución con respecto ao ano 1999 cando tiña 1.283 habitantes.
