Un vehículo (do latín vehiculum) é calquera instrumento que serve para transportar persoas, animais ou cousas dun lugar a outro. Pode ser motorizado ou non e circular por calquera medio (terrestre, marítimo ou aéreo).

Trátase frecuentemente dun medio de transporte motorizado, pero a súa finalidade principal non sempre é o transporte: é o caso dos aparellos recreativos, os de obras públicas, a maquinaria agrícola, os enxeños militares...).



Historia |


  • os barcos máis vellos atopados datan de hai 7.000–9.000 anos.[1]

  • Hai evidencias de vehículos de rodas tirados por camelos contra o 3.000–4.000 a.C.[2]

  • A evidencia máis temperá dun vehículo sobre raís é un diolkos de entre 6 e 8,5 km de lonxitude. Empregábase para transportar barcos a través do estreito de Corinto, en Grecia contra o 600 a.C.[3]

  • No século XVI sábese da existencia en Austria dun funicular no castelo de Hohensalzburg.[4]

  • En 1783 os irmáns Montgolfier construíron o primeiro globo aerostático.

As axencias dedicadas á exploración aeroespacial como a Jet Propulsion Laboratory teñen creado vehículos para desprazarse en terreos doutros planetas como o ATHLETE (acrónimo de All-Terrain Hex-Legged Extra-Terrestrial Explorer).
