I have a VM in google cloud and I've been using it for almost 3 years.

Specs:
Windows Server 2016 Datacenter
Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU @ 2.30GHz
Windows 64 bits
1 vCPUj, 5,5 GB / 200GB space, 50GB free

Myself and colleagues RDP to this virtual machine in order to do our day-to-day work (emails, documents editing, etc), so basically we use dummy pcs just to access everything in there.

After around 1 year, we've noticed that HTTP connections became an issue. The download speed dropped to the ground. By coincidence, we had a similar issue when using amazon AWS and hence we moved to google, but now we are back to where we were.

We don't normally navigate on websites through the VM, but we do have other things that rely on the HTTP connection such as dropbox, uploading stuff to websites, etc. and they all started struggling because of that. For instance, browsing websites (I have tried hundreds) in any browser (Chrome, Firefox, IE) will either take ages to load or not load at all.

Speed tests:

I tried to run https://business.comcast.com/learn/internet-speed-test and the website didn't load. I refresh multiple times and it really doesn't move. Just for my sanity, I ran it on my own PC and it loaded perfectly.

I ran speedtest.net and this is what I got:
0.53MBPS and 76.60MBPS upload

I ran https://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest and it gave me 1MBPS download and 66MBPS.

The download speed and the fact that some websites won't load at all, in my opinion clearly tells that something is really wrong there. And yes, I ran the speed test in different days and times of the week. This is the average.

By the way, we also use FTP to send/receive stuff and this guy has no issues at all, it does super fast.

Do you guys have any clues?

Thanks!
