I have been out of the server game for some time and having just had a kid (9m) I have few active brain cells left, but I looked and can't see another question which helps.
I want to setup vpn connections between my home and remote server (bare metal/ESXi), as well as potentially a colleagues office (I help them here and there).
Notes:
- The IP address spaces are non-conflicting, in fact I can do whatever is required
- At home, I have little space for anything much bigger than a raspberry pi.
- I was hoping to use pfSense on ESXi.
- I was HOPING to use a wireless router for home; however I have no idea which if any support lan-to-lan.
- DD-WRT and alike are fine by me - but would be a secondary option to an official product
- The office is fairly open - not so much looking for recommendations on hardware for that, just caveats associated with how I plan to configure.
- Split-tunneling would be required; The last thing I need is systems at home to be compromised due to laziness.
A firewall is absolutely required in all areas, as I want to be able to access all sites from home, including when connected remotely via VPN (I can do this)
Can someone recommend hardware and/or software which has the capabilities.
A list is fine without opinion to prevent the question from being subjective, but feel free to tell me which you use(d) yourself.
To be quite clear, I am very open to the solution being presented, so long as it fits.
Thanks in advance for any assistance.

This question appears to be off-topic. The users who voted to close gave this specific reason:
- "Requests for product, service, or learning material recommendations are off-topic because they attract low quality, opinionated and spam answers, and the answers become obsolete quickly. Instead, describe the business problem you are working on, the research you have done, and the steps taken so far to solve it." – womble
