Os Maiar son uns seres fantásticos creados por J. R. R. Tolkien. Son os de menor rango dos Ainur que entraron en Eä no comezo dos tempos.


Os Maiar (singular: Maia) eran os Ainur de menor rango que n'O Silmarillion dise que descenderon a Arda para axudar ós Valar, os altos Ainur, a dar forma ó mundo. O Silmarilion conta que eran numerosos, pero poucos foron nomeados polos Homes ou os Elfos.
