Radagast o Pardo é un personaxe ficticio pertencente ao legendarium de J.R.R. Tolkien. É un dos cinco Magos, e aparece nas obras O Señor dos Aneis, O Hobbit e O Silmarillion. N'O Hobbit, Gandalf descríbeo como o seu curmán, aínda que non se sabe se o é realmente. A Radagast gústanlle moito os animais salvaxes, os paxaros en especial, tanto que o seu nome en Aman era Aiwendil, que contén a palabra quenya Aiwen (paxaro), que significa Amigo dos Paxaros.



O seu papel na Historia |


Como os outros magos, chegou á Terra Media desde Valinor ao redor do ano 1000 da Terceira Idade, e orixinariamente era un dos Maiar de Yavanna. Seica Yavanna obrigou a Saruman a aceptar a Radagast como compañeiro, o que pode ser unha das razóns polas que o trata con certo desprezo.


En asuntos de plantas e animais, era máis sabio que calquera home, e dise que falaba a lingua dos paxaros, alén de ser mencionado con respecto polos Beórnidas e mailos Ents.


No Señor dos Aneis, no verán do ano 3018 da Terceira Idade, Saruman pídelle a Radagast que busque a Gandalf, e que lle diga que os Nove Nazgûl están a buscar noticias da Comarca e que lle pida que vaia a Isengarda. Desta forma, aínda que inconscientemente, Radagast convértese nunha ferramenta de Saruman axudándolle a capturar a Gandalf.


Cando se atopan preto de Prebe, Gandalf pídelle que mande mensaxes ás bestas e paxaros para que lle avisen de calquera novidade. Desta forma Gwaihir, o Señor dos Ventos, chega a Isengarda e pode rescatar a Gandalf do pináculo da Torre de Isengarda, Orthanc.


Non se sabe cando deixou a Terra Media, mais os escritos de Tolkien revelan que abandonou a súa misión ao se tornar obcecado polos animais e plantas.
Tolkien tamén escribiu que o fracaso de Radagast non foi tan grande coma o de Saruman, e que consecuentemente lle foi permitida a volta ás Terras Inperecedoiras. As referencias de Gandalf a el no libro son positivas, describíndoo como un "Mago Valoroso" e "Honesto". Radagast non aparece nos filmes.
