I've been doing batch Transfer of about 150 files every alternate day for the past 5 months from AWS Cloud to GCP Storage. I use the interface provided by https://console.cloud.google.com/storage/transfer/details....

Now for the past 3 days, the transfers are not happening and they are just hanging. In the case of AWS, I figured out there is md5 issue from my end as I was blindly taking the "Etag" of AWS. Let's keep this apart.

To troubleshoot and isolate, I setup Files on my own VPS and tried to transfer them to GC Storage using the Google's Transfer interface as mentioned above & even this transfer hangs.

Any pointers on why Transfers from VPS to GC Storage not working ?

  I work for Google Cloud Platform Support and we've had a few similar cases with stuck transfers. The engineering team is aware of the issue and is working on a fix. I will update this post once it's rolled out.
