கூட்டுறவு வீட்டு வசதி சங்கம் என்பது வதிவிடங்களை கூட்டுறவு முறையில் வாங்கி அல்லது கட்டி, நிர்வாகித்துப், பயன்படுத்தும் ஒரு சட்ட முறையிலான அமைப்பு ஆகும். இவை அனைத்து உறுப்பினர்களின் வளங்களையும் ஒன்றுசேர்த்து (pooling of resources) தமது வாங்கு திறனைக் கூட்டு, குறைந்த தலா உறுப்பினர் செலவைத் தரக் கூடியதாக உள்ளது. இவை இலாப நோக்கமற்று இயங்குவதாலும் செலவுகள் குறைகின்றன. மேலும், வதிவிடத்தின் பங்குதாரர்களாக யார் இணையலாம், எவ்வாறு நிர்வகிக்கப்பட வேண்டும் என்பதில் கூடிய பங்களிப்பு வழங்கலாம்.


பொதுவாக இரண்டு வகை வீட்டுக் கூட்டுறவுகள் உண்டு. ஒன்று சொத்துப் பங்கு கூட்டுறவு (ownership cooperatives) மற்றையது சொத்துப் பங்கு இல்லாத கூட்டுறவுகள் (non-equity cooperatives).
